Russians started contracting for the sake of Tavan Tolgoi

Tavan Tolgoi, a big coal deposit has attracted not only Mongolia’s attention but also the world’s attention during recent times. There is hearsay that our northern neighbor is the most interested. Recently Russian companies united and expressed that they are interested in investing in Tavan Tolgoi. Other Russian companies announced that they have established a consortium. However Russian media says that the Russian government is taking more tactical actions. The Kremlin considered that it is correct that a state-owned company should invest in Tavan Tolgoi instead of private companies. Russian press says that it causes contradiction when state owned companies are interested in Tavan Tolgoi besides private consortiums who want to invest in Tavan tolgoi. (Ardiin Erkh)

This year’s World human development report has the title of ‘Authority and power behind the water shortage and world water crisis’. Mongolia placed 116 out of 177 countries.
