Fundamental direction was pointed to social issues

The fundamental direction to develop the Mongolian economy and society in 2007 was passed by Parliament last week. Hydro power stations of Durgun and Taishir in the western region will be put into operation and the construction work of Egiin river hydro power station was reflected into the fundamental direction. Many social issues are also reflected into the fundamental directions. Every 0-18 year old child will get MNT 100,000 per year from the state development fund in addtion to the monthly MNT 3,000. 1-4th year students of primary school will be involved in the ‘Lunch’ program and the salary of civil servants and retirement and allowances will increase 20 percent and 15 percent respectively. It was planned that the minimum amount of wage increase will be 1.3-1.5 times. (Today’s Mongolia)

Customs department people who were accused under corruption case will be judged tomorrow

The Court of Appeals which will judge Kh. Baatar, former chairman of the Customs department who was found guilty by the primary court will take place tomorrow at the Capital city court building. Ten claimants of B. Davaadorj, Head of Bichigt port, B.Uvgunkhuu, a former MP, O.Erdenebat and B. Mandakhbayar, customs department officers besides Kh. Baatar who were accused by the primary court. They will be judged in eight clauses of criminal law such as giving bribes, taking bribes, passed throughout the state border and took advantage of their job positions. Y.
