Parliament urged to approve
2007 budget
According to the law, parliamentary sessions should be on Thursdays and Fridays, but they decided to convene on Tuesday. The Office of Parliament said it is because of discussion on the budget being late. Also Prime Minister M. Enkhbold’s visit to China was another reason why the session was brought forward. The law on budget needs to be approved before December 1, after being discussed for four sessions. If the parliament doesn’t approve it within time, it should be dissolved according to the law. The reason for the lateness is because the basic orientation on economy, society and the monetary policy haven’t been approved yet.
