MPs reminded to privatize MIAT company
Amendments and changes to implement during air freight were made for the bilateral negotiation about liberalizing international air transportation in 2004. The standing committee on Security and Foreign policy has discussed yesterday whether or not the Mongolian Government is going to unite for this negotiation. But during the meeting of the standing committee they talked about MIAT. Members criticized that MIAT has two airplanes but it has 500 – 600 employees. The reason that tourism sector is not developing in Mongolia is because of MIAT, from one side. They said the issue of privatizing MIAT has been discussed during Parliament sessions for many years, but has never happened. (Centennial News) Candidate for the chairman of anticorruption organization Ch. Enkhee, a defense lawyer has delivered his request to the President, State Ikh Hural, and Prime minister for becoming the chairman of the anticorruption organization. “It wouldn’t fit, if someone who was working at the Legal and Control authority or State organizations, was appointed as a chairman of the anticorruption organization. However, if it happens it would be an organization that protects each other like the Ethics and Discipline commission and Prosecutor’s office,” he considered. He expressed his opinion in detail about this issue. (Today’s Mongolia) Metallurgical factory is operating in downtown The decree of the Capital city Governor was passed in May and metallurgical factories are prohibited to run their operations in downtown under the decree. Currently only one metallurgical factory moved to Nalaikh district. Others are continuing to run their operations. Also 2-3 factories have additionally been established. Even though actions like cutting off their electricity and imposing fines are taken they keep up their operations by connecting electricity secretly. Two of these factories are Mongolian and the others are Chinese invested companies. (Unen) |
