Fall Days of “Greenery” in Ulaanbaatar Print E-mail

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture is about to organize the first Green Days of Fall exhibition to enable local producers to show their products in Misheel Expo center from September 29 to October 7.

About 300 organizations and individuals from the capital city and eight provinces will participate in the exhibition divided into three main categories: Healthy Food, Golden Fall, and Selected Animals.

Minister of Agriculture D.Terbishdagva said, “The purpose of the exhibition is to provide the public with information about agriculture and different activities within the agricultural sector.”

100 entities will participate in the Healthy Food-2006 exhibition, including 13 flour producers, 7 fruit and vegetable growers, 10 meat producers and 15 soft drinks factories, who will provide taste-testing.

A kiosk presenting false products will also be available to help people find differences between real and fake products.

The Selected Animals exhibition will be held outside until October 3, and about 200 cattle and livestock of the best breeds raised in Mongolia will be brought for auction. Camels from Galbiin Govi, black speckled cows and sheep from Orhon Yuroo and Hangai, red goats of Bayandelger, black goats of Erchim, white Russian pigs and turkeys are all set to be sold.   

The Golden Fall exhibition will cover 130 farmers from 40 soums of 8 provinces. They will exhibit newly harvested potatoes, fruits and vegetables planted in Mongolia. Tov, Selenge and Darhan-Uul province days will be organized and small industries that process vegetables and fruits will also be presented.

A computer will be set up in the center for visitors to vote for the best producers and manufacturers. At the completion of the exhibition, organizers will present 40 awards across 25 different categories.

Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Traffic Settlement G. Baldansharav said, 34 buses from 13 different areas have been arranged to drive to Misheel expo center to provide the public with better transportation.
